I am a recent college undergraduate (Eastern Connecticut State University ’15) from Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Social Science and am certified to teach social studies from grades 7-12. My interests include history, natural and physical sciences, politics, travel, food, beer, and ice hockey. Past travel destinations include Israel, Jordan, the West Bank, and Italy. Just your average 20-something with a passion for learning and trying to help the world.
I will be teaching English at the secondary level in Ethiopia as part of my Peace Corps service. Part of Peace Corps “Third Goal” is to share my experience in some way, which is why I made this blog to include people in how I am preparing, completing, and transitioning. My aim is to make this blog as open as possible for readers to understand how I truly feel. This is the only way I feel I can educate people on what this sort of commitment entails. Questions and feedback are always appreciated to make this work better!
